Is it free to become a tutor on StudentOn?
Yes. Registering and creating your tutor profile is free. You only pay ₹20 when you choose to unlock a student's contact details.
Does StudentOn take a commission from my tuition fees?
No. You set your own fee per hour or per month and the student pays you directly. StudentOn never takes a percentage.
How do I get students?
Students find your profile when they search by subject and area, and can message you. You can also browse tutor jobs (requirements posted by students and parents) and get email alerts for new ones in your subjects.
Can I teach online from anywhere in India?
Yes. Choose Online as a teaching mode and students from any city can contact you. You can offer home tuition in your area as well.
What documents do I need?
None to get started. Uploading your degree or marksheet and a government ID is optional and earns a Verified badge, which students trust more. Your documents are never shown publicly.
How long does approval take?
Usually 24–48 hours after you submit your profile. You'll get a message on WhatsApp or email when it's done.
Is there a StudentOn app for tutors?
Yes. The StudentOn Android app on Google Play lets you apply, browse tutor jobs, chat with students and manage your coins.
